The SPRING 2019 semester will officially start on Monday, February 4.

To All LACC Students:

To ease your transition back to campus, I’d like to provide you with the following information:

The campus map has been updated to help you navigate the campus.

A list of open classes is available on the college website.

The last day to add online without instruction permission is this Sunday, February 3, 2019.

To add into a class once the semester begins on February 4th, you must request permission to add from the instructor.

If the class is in person, you must attend the next class meeting to request permission to add from the instructor. If the class is online, you must send an email to the instructor. Instructor emails are available in the Directory. If the instructor permits you to enroll, you will be given a permission number. You may use the permission number to register using the online SIS student portal available at If you are experiencing errors with the system or cannot log in, please visit the Welcome Center or Admissions and Records for help with the system.

No parking citations will be issued during the Welcome Week from February 4 through February 9. Be sure to park in designated student parking lots. Students who are enrolled may purchase a parking permit at the Business Office.

The following apps are available to download for free to currently enrolled students:

  • – this app will allow you to access your student portal on your mobile phone. It is useful for accessing your class schedule, financial aid status, entering your permission number to add a class etc. Download now for Android (Google Play) and IPhone (App Store).
  • GradGuru – this app is designed to help you navigate life at LACC. The app will remind you of upcoming deadlines, campus events, and other important campus information to keep you on track for college success. Download now for Android (Google Play) and IPhone (App Store).

For students who are expecting to receive a financial aid refund disbursement in SPRING 2019, funds have been scheduled to transfer into the BankMobile card on Thursday, February 7, 2019.

For students who are unable to find the building location of their class on the campus map, it is most likely that you had signed up for a class that meets off-campus. Check the location on your student portal SPRING 2019 course list to determine the exact location of the class or consider switching to a class that meets on campus.

No classes will be held on Friday, February 15 through Monday, February 18, in observance of Presidents’ Day holiday.

Saturday classes will start on February 9.

The following offices are scheduled to be open Saturdays at the beginning of the term:

The Student Services Building will observe extended office hours during the first week of the semester, from Monday, February 4 through Friday, February 8. Most Student Services Offices will be open from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Thursday and 8 am to 4:00 pm on Friday.

The LACC Foundation, Extended Opportunity Program & Services (EOPS), and Financial Aid each provide assistance with purchasing textbooks.

I hope the information provided is useful to get you started in the upcoming SPRING 2019 semester.
