Programs

Our Business, Accounting and Real Estate programs will give students a solid foundation from which to advance to university Bachelor degree and MBA programs. For students who do not plan to go on to a university, LACC business programs will prepare you for entry level and supervisory positions in a variety of roles for a wide range of businesses. Employment opportunities include bookkeeper, sales, ad agency staffer, office manager, supervisor, banking and investment staffer, marketing department staff and real estate agent. The business courses are also ideal for students considering starting their own businesses or those who already own small business.

The demand for qualified personnel in accounting and bookkeeping has significantly increased due to advances in technology and the increased complexity of the business environment.

In the Business Administration areas, we offer three programs of study: the Associate of Science Degree for Transfer (AS-T), Associate of Arts Degree and a Certificate. All three paths are designed to give the student an extensive background in the principles and practices of the business world.

Our Finance & Banking Program is designed to provide students with basic bookkeeping skills enabling them to become employed in positions such as bookkeeper, bank teller, payroll clerk, or an accounts payable clerk.

We offer three degree and certificate programs of study: the Associate of Arts Degree in Management, Retail Management, and Small Business Management. All paths are designed to give the student an extensive background in the principles and practices of the business world.

Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in marketing and related areas such as market research, advertising, sales, retail, wholesale, customer relations, shipping and receiving, and transportation.

The Real Estate curriculum has been designed by the Business Administration Department for students who plan to enter the field in such areas as sales, brokerage, management, and escrows. The program prepares students for employment and qualifies them for the real estate brokers examination.
