Biographical Statement:

I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology.  My undergraduate Bachelor’s degree is also in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.  I have worked, studied, and lived in California for over 25 years and I am incredibly proud to be a full time faculty member of the Psychology Department at Los Angeles City College.  I teach an array of courses at LACC from Introductory Psychology to more advanced courses.

Beyond my work as a Professor, I also work as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Supervisor at a nonprofit mental health clinic in the City of Los Angeles.  I work primarily with children, families, and young adults dealing with an array of mental health issues.  I have nearly 10 years of experience working in the field of mental health.

Most importantly I am incredibly passionate about teaching and finding innovative ways to enhance the learning environment in my classroom.  I try to incorporate emerging technologies into my classes and find creative solutions for merging old and new forms of instruction.  I approach every day with the same enthusiasm, energy, and drive as I did the first day I started teaching.  I hope this is a legacy I can leave behind here at Los Angeles City College when my career is all said and done.
