Graduation Petition

Students planning to graduate should apply during the term in which they will fulfill all requirements.Outside Coursework

  • If you intend to use coursework completed from colleges or institutions outside of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) toward an Associate Degree, ADT or Certificate of Achievement, you should make an appointment with a counselor to properly evaluate your transcripts and develop an educational plan to determine which courses can be used towards your degree or certificate.
  • Coursework from regionally accredited colleges or institutions outside LACCD must be on file with our College. This also applies to any coursework taken within our District prior to spring 1974. Transcripts from other institutions must be mailed directly to LACC's Admissions Office.
  • You may check approved evaluated courses from other colleges in our TES database.

Please review our LACC graduation requirements, check your specific major requirements, and log in to your PeopleSoft Student Portal click on Academics Menu >> My Academics >> Petition for Graduation

  • Degrees: If you are applying for an Associate Degree or Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT), we recommend you see a counselor to review and petition on your behalf. If you are confident that you meet all the requirements for the degree, you may request a Graduation Check where a counselor will review and, if approved, submit on your behalf.
  • Certificates: If you are applying for a Certificate of Achievement, you may self-petition through your PeopleSoft Student Portal. For IGETC and CSU GE-Breadth certifying/certification please see a counselor to complete or request Online if you are confident that you meet all the requirements.

In your PeopleSoft Student Portal click on Apply for Graduation and verify that your academic program, degree and/or certificate are correct. Should you need assistance ask your counselor.

  • You will be notified of your degree/certificate status before the end of the semester or term in which the application is filed.
  • Your name will appear on the degree or certificate as it appears on our current records. Please go to the Admissions & Records to update any personal information changes such as name, address, etc.
