GOLF
Learn the fundamentals of golf by working with a pro instructor. Emphasis will be placed on developing the proper grip, stance and swing. Shopping wisely for golf clubs and accessories will be reviewed at the first class meeting. All materials provided by instructor.

HORSEBACK RIDING
Introduction to Horseback riding: Learn grooming, tacking, mounting, dismounting, horse psychology, saddling, bridling, riding etiquette, equipment and basic balance at the various gates. Our instructors have taught hundreds of beginners to take that first trot! Class is held off campus at The Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Students must be 16 years and older. Limit 8 students per section. Riders must weight less than 195 pounds. No enrollment cancellations will be allowed. First meeting is a mandatory orientation. Students must have TES approved riding boots – all attire to be approved by TES. Students are required to attend the Traditional Equitation School (TES) tack class prior to 1st ride at TES – Wednesdays 7-9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 1-3 p.m. Students can only enroll once, students cannot repeat enrollment.

TENNIS PROGRAM
Tennis instruction for adults. Learn or review the basics: the proper grips, the forehand, the backhand, the serve, tennis rules and court etiquette. Intermediate students should have prior knowledge of the basic strokes and rules they will focus upon. Improve ground strokes, serving and net play. Advanced class by permission of instructor. All students must bring to class 1 new can of tennis balls and a tennis racquet. Class held off campus in Griffith Park. Enrollment Limited to 10 students.

ICE SKATING FOR TEENS AND ADULTS
An introduction to the coolest sport - ice-skating. Learn how to skate, turn and maintain your balance on the ice. All equipment provided by instructor. Enrollment is limited to 10 students. Students enrolled in this class may skate the public session on the day of their class for free. Saturday public session is from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The free public session expires when students’ lessons are completed. Class held off-campus.

PILATES MAT CLASS
Ever wish for a class that really strengthens your stomach, your back & streamlines your body. Well, you just found it! Using Pilates type exercises this class focuses on your ”core” - the center of your body. You’ll feel stronger and see a significant change in your body in 6 lessons. Bring a workout mat and towel to class and be prepared to be very excited with this innovative exercise form. No class March 31.

CARDIO - KICKBOXING
Boost your metabolism with this fast paced fun workout. You will develop faster reflexes through the kickboxing workout by combining kickboxing techniques with a cardio workout. This is an effective exercise where you will build stamina, muscle tone, and muscle definition throughout your body by promoting muscle strength and fat burning. YOGA FOR A HEALTHY BACK
Learn safe and effective stretching techniques based on the ancient art of yoga and designed for people with problem backs. BALLET SLIM & TRIM
What better way to whittle those legs, improve your circulation, tone up your whole body, and most importantly, work on your total alignment with the classical art of ballet dance. The traditional ballet "warm-up" performed at the barre does all of this and more. No experience necessary. Ballet shoes are recommended.

BASICS OF YOGA
This introductory course is designed to assist the beginning student in understanding the art of yoga. In these sessions you will learn basic postures and breathing techniques to gain a clearer understanding of yoga as a tool for self-transformation. A consistent Hatha yoga practice can stimulate the cardiovascular system, reduce weight, improve posture and tone the muscular system by increasing strength and flexibility. CARDIO – SALSA – BLAST

SELF DEFENSE

 

JUDO
This is an introductory course mixed with intermediate and advanced students. Basic judo skills include throwing, groundwork (grappling), strangulation escapes and arm locks. Women and men participate in a co-educational setting with emphasis on learning judo for self-defense, tournament competition, physical fitness and fun. This course is recreational in nature and students can be any age from teenagers to senior citizens. Wear sweat pants and shirt or judo uniform to the first class meeting. All are welcome to join!!!

QUICK & DIRTY SELF DEFENSE
If you ever leave your home – you need this class. If you ever stay at home – you need this class!!! Learn how to protect yourself in the streets, how to turn your fear into anger – switch yourself into attack mode! In this class you will learn how to subdue an attacker in 6 seconds, you will also learn to develop your inner/hidden strengths with confidence. Topics include: Extremely effective techniques that are easy to do and apply; learn what to do when gimmicks fail. Find out what to do when faced against overwhelming odds; why size is not a factor.
