Computer Technology and ELectronics (CTEL)
Los Angeles City College has offered programs in Electronics since the school's beginning and programs in Computer Technology since 1962. LACC was the first community college to offer true hands-on training on live mainframe equipment and the first to offer an Associate in Science degree in Computer Technology.

We are pleased to present 2 new courses:
Electronics 101 - Science of Electronics
A survey course in the science and nature of Electronics for all students. You will explore the range of electronics from basic circuits to integrated circuits and the products that use them. You'll examine the social, political, and economic impacts of electronics technology on our world. Click Here for the catalog description.
NOTE that this course satisfies the general education requirement for a science elective for your AA or AS degree.
We recommend the Electronics 002 course as a laboratory to accompany the EL101 lecture-only course.
Electronics 105 - Electrician's Examination Preparation
This course provides preparation for the Journeyman Electricians Examination required for all persons interested in becoming professional electricians, or who are already in the process of interning in the industry.
