to English 206, Section 1356. I am Alexandra Maeck, your instructor.
Here is the basic information you need to get started.
To
get online:
You need three things to enter our course website:
- an
access code
- an
email address
- the
course ID number: maeck22133
To
get the access code:
- Go
to the LACC College Bookstore and buy a package of three books
(Frankenstein,
Wuthering
Heights,
and Pride
and Prejudice).
This package includes the access
code
and directions on how to access the web site. The directions are
simple. Email me if you have any problems. You can find these
books in libraries and used book stores, but I strongly recommend
you buy these specific texts because 1) they include wonderful
resource materials we will use; 2) it’s important to be on the
same page(s).
- If
you live too far away to buy the LACC package, you can pay for the
access code instead (you’ll need a major credit card). I think
it’s $10 or $15. Go to this address and click on “Students –
Register.” http://www.coursecompass.com/
NOTE:
the books are not in the bookstore until last week of August. The
web site will not be accessible until September 2. However, check
the posted reading list to give you an idea of what the course
consists of. You need to log in between Sept. 2 – 4.
I
will be on campus Sept. 2-4 from 2 to 6 pm and Sept. 5 and 6, from
5-7 pm to answer questions and meet you. My office is located on the
third floor in Jefferson Hall, Room 300, Office E. I don’t require
you to meet me – only if you have questions. (however,
I do require you to take your midterm and final exam on campus).

online or easily found in libraries, books stores, and used book
