ASSOCIATE IN ARTS IN KOREAN

Korean AA Degree Program is now available.
The California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office approved LACC's AA degree in Korean on December 1, 2008.

To complete general education requirements in Korean AA, LACC Plan A for the AA/AS Degree is required.

Plan A
English Composition 3-6 units
Communication/Analytical Thinking 6-9 units
Math Competency (Math 115 or higher or passing score on Los Angeles Community College District Math competency exam) 3-5 units
Natural Sciences 3 units
Humanities 3 units
Social/Behavioral Sciences (including American History & Governments) 9 units
Health/Physical Education 3-4 units

Eighteen or more units of classes must be chosen from below and all transfer plan graduation requirements satisfied. Must include the following with satisfactory grade or better:
Korean 4: Intermediate Korean II (5 units) (UC:CSU)
Korean 8: Conversational Korean (2 units) (UC:CSU)
Humanities 45: Korean Civilization (3 units) (UC:CSU)

LACC CERTIFICATE IN KOREAN LANGUAGE & CIVILIZATION

LACC Foreign Language & Humanities department offers Korean Language & Civilization certificate in two levels: Intermediate (I) and Advanced (II). Either certificate will distinguish you as a student who has successfully completed a series of courses in Korean language and a Korean Civilization course. There are no general requirements for the certificate. Each certificate requires only 4 courses, 15 units total. The 2 levels of certificates may be obtained in sequence or individually. The certificates are non-transferable.

Korean 1: Elementary Korean I 5 units (UC:CSU)
