Coherence of Near-Earth Meteor Streams
Mentor: Kevin Grazier (JPL)

A debate in the cosmochemistry community, based upon meteorites found at the south pole, is whether or not near-Earth meteoroid streams can remain "coherent" over 6-10 million year time frames. Running simulations--perhaps even writing a small amoung of code-- to help answer this question will be the goal of this CURE project.

The student will slightly modify existing code to generate initial conditions, will slightly modify existing code to run the simulations, then will help with the data analysis upon completion.

CURE student tasks: Properties of meteorids and their orbits, scientific programming.
