Testing of Underwater probes
Mentors: Arthur Lonne Lane and Claus Mogensen (JPL)
Underwater probes are utilized to acquire in situ scientific data and images in a submerged state of particles in the water and on the bottom of ice layer formations. The underwater probes are equipped with scientific instruments that can detect and analyze chemical and biological evidence in these underwater environments, as well as take images from an onboard camera.

CURE student tasks: The student will modify and add to existing codes that will be used to control the instruments and camera on board the probe, and control the motion of the probe itself. Testing of the instruments for functionality and data acquisition in simulated conditions will also be performed.
