Costume Society of America - advances the global understanding of all aspects of dress and appearance, provides scholarship opportunities for research, travel and publication. Awards given by the Society include the Fellow Award, the Millia Davenport Publication Award and the Stella Blum Research Grant.

KC/ACTF- Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy has been involved with the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival since its beginning. Students in all areas (acting, costume, and technical) regularly compete for scholarships, with Academy actors participating in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship competition.

  • SCITT (Southern California Institute for Theatre Technology) The LACC Technical Theatre Program is an organizational member of SCITT, which gives students access to the many programs offered by this group during the year. These activities include: new theatre tours, studio tours, designer seminars, advanced technology seminars and manufacturer tours. SCITT also prints a monthly publication and allows students to participate in the annual USITT conference. At the USITT conference, students may interview for jobs, summer positions and graduate schools, as well as take technical seminars and view the products of over 400 theatrical manufacturers.
