The Office of Economic Development and Workforce Education at Los Angeles City College (LACC) is a multifaceted entity that works collaboratively with internal and external partners for the purpose of serving and training diverse student and organizational populations. LACC is committed to providing resources, training, and tools that positively impact and build neighboring communities with an emphasis on creating a competitively skilled and competent workforce. Bridging the gap between training and preparing a successful workforce and satisfying workplace demands requires that LACC programs remain current with business and industry.
Economic Development at Los Angeles City College
Economic Development at Los Angeles City College is supported through the administration of grants from federal, state, and local levels as well as various workforce related projects that enhance the delivery of programs and services. These grants empower the Office of Economic Development and Workforce Education to continuously improve its services such as, the delivery of customized training classes and vocational skills certificate programs to meet the needs of business and industry, enhancing workplace skills, student assessments, intern- and externships, career technical education, welfare to work, career advancement and pathways training, job preparation and readiness, citizenship and civics training classes, and technical preparation for high school students.
Workforce Education at Los Angeles City College
Workforce Education at Los Angeles City College is designed to meet the need of various stakeholders including the Los Angeles Community College District, students and staff, community-based partner organizations, business and industry, and high school partners. Workforce Education has significant collaborations and partnerships with both public and private sectors throughout Los Angeles County.
