JPMorgan Chase Foundation
We are deeply grateful to the JPMorgan Chase Foundation for the generous support that enabled us to create the STEM Academy. The collaboration between the Mathematics/Computer Science, Chemistry/Earth Sciences, Physics/Engineering, and Life Science departments educates more than 10,000 students each year, including a large proportion of underrepresented minorities and women. We are honored that the leadership at JPMorgan Chase Foundation shared our vision for bringing a dedicated STEM concentration to LACC’s campus.
California State University Los Angeles Bioinformatics Program
The director of the CSULA Bioinformatics Minor Program, Jamil Momand, presented a workshop to STEM Academy members in Spring 2014. He is also helping to connect our member students with internships in companies where CSULA Bioinformatics alumni work through a joint online social networking group.
