Alumni Update

November 21, 2007

Former Cub Joseph Taylor (2004-06) met and played against 2007 All-State forward and former Cub, Jay Brown, in a matter of words.

Taylor, a second-year senior forward at the University of Wyoming, and Brown, a junior at Lamar University this year, happened to play against each other when Wyoming visited Beaumont, Texas-based Lamar in a non-conference NCAA men’s basketball contest on Monday, Nov. 19. Wyoming won the game, 75-71, but not before Taylor came off the bench for the Cowboys to score 13 points and nine rebounds. Brown, who starts at Lamar, didn’t fair as well as he scored only two points and hauled down four rebounds.

Taylor and Brown are two of over 60 student-athletes who have graduated from LA City College under the tutelage of Coach Miller since 1992 and have matriculated into NCAA Division I basketball programs and institutions.
