EXERCISE & RELAXATION

ICE SKATING FOR TEENS & ADULTS

An introduction to the coolest sport - ice-skating. Learn how to skate, turn and maintain your balance on the ice. All Equipment provided by instructor. Enrollment is limited to 10 students. Students enrolled in this class may skate the public session on the day of their class for free. Saturday public session is from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The free public session expires when students lessons are completed. Class held off-campus.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Introduction to Horseback riding: Learn grooming, tacking, mounting, dismounting, horse psychology, saddling, bridling, riding etiquette, equipment and basic balance at the various gates. Our instructors have taught hundreds of beginners to take that first trot! Class is held off campus at The Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Students must be 16 years and older. Limit 8 students per section. Riders must weight less than 195 pounds. No enrollment cancellations will be allowed. First meeting is a mandatory orientation. Students must have TES approved riding boots – all attire to be approved by TES. Students are required to attend the Traditional Equestrian School (TES) tack class prior to 1st ride at TES - Wednesdays 7-9 p.m. and Saturdays & Sundays 1-3 p.m.

TENNIS PROGRAM

Tennis instruction for adults. Learn or review the basics: the proper grips, the forehand, the backhand, the serve, tennis rules and court etiquette. Intermediate students should have prior knowledge of the basic strokes and rules they will focus upon improving ground strokes, serving and net play. Advanced by permission of instructor. Come try the Olympic sport of Fencing! It is the fastest growing of all the Olympic sports. Great fun for all ages. BASICS OF YOGA

This introductory course is designed to assist the beginning student in understanding the art of yoga. In these sessions you will learn basic postures and breathing techniques to gain a clearer understanding of yoga as a tool for self-transformation. A consistent Hatha yoga practice can stimulate the cardiovascular system, reduce weight, improve posture, and tone the muscular system by increasing strength and flexibility. KUNG FU

Choi Lai Fut Gung Fu is a Southern Chinese Martial Art. This system stresses powerful circular, straight and angular fist and hand motions with traditional strong kicking combinations. Learn explosive stance transitions coordinated with devastating combinations of strikes, blocks and kicks. Class emphasis is on understanding and application of the art. Sifu Nan is an internationally recognized teacher of the art. She studied with the late Sifu John Lem and is a deciple of Headmaster, Sifu Chia Yan Soon, of Singapore Hong Sheng Koon. Ages 10 and up.

JUDO

An introductory course mixed with intermediate and advanced students. Basic judo skills include throwing, groundwork (grappling), strangulation escapes, and arm locks. Women and men participate in a co-education setting with emphasis on learning judo for self-defense, tournament competition, physical fitness and fun. This course is recreational in nature and students can be any age from teenagers to senior citizens. Wear sweat pants and shirt or judo uniform to the first class meeting.
