It is a concern of the data being exposed according to state law. The IT coordinated wants the infor= mation to be secured. Outlook has encryption technology. The state wants encryptio= n. We wanted to look at the balance of information and security. The server was reconfigured without notice and no longer would support POP3 mail and not configured for imap. But the POP3 has since then been rein= stated after some complaints from faculty. Juan would like Jorge Matta to discuss = this at a meeting with the Information technology committee. There is an additio= nal concern that I leads to added exposes of the school site. Juan thinks the two options are to secure the mail; they would need a new secure server; so it won’t att= ach to the main site; they want a more secure firewall. Recommend a server for security that could be used for other purposes. <o:p> </o:p> There was a general discussion about entourage, gmail, macmail, etc. <o:p> </o:p> The committee decided to continue the meetings on Wedn= esday at 11:00AM. <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> From Lisa= : Ann Zumwinkle will be at school tomorrow to talk to some departments up their n= ew websites.
