Freeware with Conditions

Free as long as the user is a employee/student of an academic institution and it should be used for academic purposes only. This software is to be installed by IT. If you need any of these to be installed in a LACC computer, make your request at IT HelpDesk site.


CutePDF: Create PDF files.
To use CutePDF Writer, open the file that you would like to print to PDF. Select the Print option (usually found under File > Print), and select "CutePDF Writer" from the list of available printers. You will be prompted to select the destination directory and filename for your output file. Some applications, such as NotePad, will automatically print to your default printer when you select the Print option. If you want to create PDF file, you may need to change your default printer.
    Instructions
  • Download GPL Ghostscript 8.15 (converter.exe) and CutePDF Writer (CuteWriter.exe).
  • Install GPL Ghostscript 8.15 (converter.exe).
  • Install CutePDF Writer (CuteWriter.exe).
  • Delete converter.exe and CuteWriter.exe.

 

WS_FTP LE: Upload/download files via FTP.
    Instructions
  • Download WS_FTP LE (ws_ftple.exe).
  • Install WS_FTP LE (ws_ftple.exe).
  • Delete ws_ftple.exe.

 

PowerArchiver 2001: File compression program similar to WinZip. Windows XP already has a compression program build in it.
    Instructions
  • Download PowerArchiver (POWARC61.EXE).
  • Install PowerArchiver (POWARC61.EXE).
  • Delete POWARC61.EXE.

Mozilla Firefox : Alternative to Internet Explorer. Be aware that the LACCD portal is not compatible with Firefox..
    Instructions
  • Download Firefox (Firefox Setup.exe).
  • Install Firefox (Firefox Setup.exe).
  • Delete Firefox Setup.exe.

 

AMP Calendar (ver 2.42): This is a small utility that displays a calendar with the twelve months of a year using the Windows regional settings. Easy access to the calendar through an icon in the taskbar, which shows the current day of the month. Configurable colors and column layout, and it also have the options of configure the first month in the calendar, the first day of the week and printing the calendar.

  • Download AMP Calendar (CalendarSetup.exe).
  • Install AMP Calendar (CalendarSetup.exe).
  • Delete CalendarSetup.exe
