We welcome you to this website.
Our most important job at the Compliance Office is to promote an environment that is
free from discrimination and sexual harassment.
It is our responsibility to develop and implement Los Angeles
Community College District
policies and procedures covering Federal and State laws,
address discrimination and
sexual harassment issues, investigate, resolve and recommend
resolutions to discrimination and sexual harassment complaints, and oversee
federal compliance, including monitoring recruitment,
retention and promotion of diversity. We also coordinate
training workshops.
We are committed to creating, improving and promoting
opportunities to make our campus a more diverse community,
through the implementation of diversity programs, training,
and other activities. Valuing diversity means recognizing
and respecting what all people bring to our college. It is
about creating and sustaining an environment where everyone
can achieve his or her potential.
LACC offers many support services for students
including the Office of Special Services, TRIO Program,
Workforce Program, and Upward Bound. These services have
been established to particularly assist students with
disabilities, students from non-English speaking
backgrounds, students from overseas, and students from low
income and first generation families. LACC also
offers help to faculty and staff should they need
assistance through the
Employee Assistance Program.
LACC also has established the
Sexual Assault Response Team to
assist victims of sexual assault.
There are many different diversity initiatives that serve as
resources for our faculty, staff, and students. Your
involvement in these programs and activities helps to foster
a valued understanding of diversity on campus and in
society.
We look forward to helping you and invite you to explore this
website.
