Los Angeles City College Library Expanded Academic ASAP Tutorial |
Advanced search involves four steps:
1. Choose an index by using the Select index pull-down menu (as demonstrated in the screen capture below).
2. Click on the entry box (after the index abbreviation).
3. Enter one or more words, using wildcards if desired.
4. Click on Search button
You can search using the following indexes:

| Content | ac | Locate records with: "fulltext", or "image", or "abstract" |
| Date | da | Publication dates of articles |

| Issue Number | iu | Issue number of the publication |
| Journal Name | jn | Publications in this database |
| Keyword | ke | Words in titles, authors, and Gale Group-assigned index terms |
| Refereed | re | Records from refereed (peer-reviewed) publications |
| Start Page | sp | The page on which the article begins |
| Subject | su | Words from indexed subjects |
| Text Word | tx | Words in article text |
| Title | ti | Words in article titles |
| Volume Number | vo | Volume number of the publication |
