Program’s Mission Statement:
The mission of the Career & Job Development Center is to educate and serve students in the career education, planning, and development process.
Program’s Description:
The Career and Job Development Center is a component of the Counseling Department that provides career counseling services. The primary services include: career assessment (testing), career counseling, educational counseling, maintenance and updating of two job development employment/internship boards, career research resources (books, brochures, career software, and Internet access), and a monthly newsletter - the Cub Career Corner. Other services include workshops, resume assistance, Internship listings, job shadowing field trips, the LACCD Interns’ Program Representative visit facilitation, and the annual day and evening career/job fairs.
Program’s Learning Outcomes
Students will:
- Articulate their skills and qualifications.
- Utilize the computer for both research and computerized assessment examinations.
- Articulate career interests based on three computerized assessment instruments (interest, ability, and values).
