Early outreach
Offers a variety of off-campus college credit courses at the local high schools. High school students may also enroll for college credit courses in the late afternoon, evenings and Saturdays with permission from their high school official and guardian. Prerequisites must be met prior to enrolling in any college credit courses.
Benefits of the program
- Earn triple high school credits – a three unit college class is equal to 10 high school credits. A five-unit college level class is equal to 13 high school credits.
- Take advanced courses not offered at your high school or specialized classes such as Psychology, Child Development, Theatre, or Administration of Justice.
- Tuition fees are waived for high school students who are California residents attending a public secondary institution. All participants must pay $11 health fee and purchase the required textbook.
How to apply for concurrent enrollment
- Complete an LACC admissions application and High School Approval Form. High School Approval Form must be signed by your high school counselor and by your parent/guardian.
- Make an appointment with your high school counselor to discuss possible course selection. List these courses on the High School Approval form.
- Return the admissions application and the High School Approval Form to the EOP&S School Relations office located in Bungalow D. * Take the Math and English Assessment Test.
- Make an appointment with your College counselor to register for classes.
