COST OF ATTENDANCE

Los Angeles City College is still one of the most affordable college nationwide. To determine a student's financial need, the financial aid office will take into consideration the student's cost of attendance and expected family contribution (see Cost of Attendance table below).

Note: Fees are are subject to change by the CA Legislature.

ENROLLMENT FEE $20per unit

CA Residents- no maximum per semester

 

NON-RESIDENT TUITION FEE

Out-Of-State Residents $173 per unit

Foreign Citizens $183 per unit

Non-resident foriegn citizens must also pay the enrollment fee of $20 per unit

 

OTHER FEES INCLUDE:

Associated Student Fee - $7; Student Representation Fee - $1;

Health Services - $11; Parking Pass $20 or $27

 

 

COST OF ATTENDANCE TABLE- get updates

The cost of attendance is based on the Student Expenses and Resources Survey (SEARS) data and updated for three years of inflation using the estimated California Consumer Price Index.

The following table shows the 2006-2007 Cost of Attendance budget for a student living at home with parents and a student living away from their parents:

The financial aid office may also add the following to a student's cost of attendance, if applicable:

  • Out of State Non-Resident Fee - $159 per unit (in addition to the $20 per unit fee)
  • Foreign Citizen Non-Resident Fee - $169 per unit (in addition to the $20 per unit fee)
  • Child Care cost - $1,000 annually
  • Direct Loan Origination/Insurance Fee - $88 annually or $44 (one semester)
