High School Seniors: 

For high school seniors entering as first time college students:
3.25 G.P.A, written essay, two letters of recommendation, and assessment scores for English placement from the Los Angeles City College or written essay to be administered by the LACC English Department Faculty.

Current & Not Traditional Students:

12 completed units at LACC or other District Campus, 3.25 G.P.A., an interview with the Scholars Director, Three letters of recommendation from faculty, employer, former teachers or Professors and a written essay to be administered by the English Department Faculty (Completion of English 101 satisfies requirement) and evidence of scholarly promise. 

Special Admits:

Students may be admitted to the Scholars College who do not meet the necessary requirements as stated above.  These students may exhibit qualities of leadership and potential for academic excellence.  Students that believe they may not qualify under the traditional requirements may request special admit by presenting two letters of recommendation, by taking a writing examination administered by the LACC English Department Faculty and having and interview with the Scholars Director.
