The Office of Student Life vision is to become the flag ship co-curricular program of community colleges. In support of this vision, the Office of Student Life will deliver exemplary and integrated services of the student life curriculum to develop global citizens.

 

Mission Statement

Office of Student Life empowers students to be engaged citizens through co-curricular services and activities that explores leadership development, civic engagement, culture understanding and awareness, and personal development.

 

Program Description

The Student Leadership and Development Programs are dedicated to providing opportunities for students to enhance their overall personal and leadership development. We are committed to supporting and preparing LACC student’s development through trainings, workshops, and access to resources. We are dedicated to meeting each individual student’s needs so they are equipped with skills that can be transferrable in their personal, academic, and professional lives.

  • Empowerment students: To enhance student lives, academically, professionally, and personally both inside and outside the classroom so that they can be their best advocate
  • Accountability: The commitment to follow through with each student, supporting their process of leadership development

  • Enhancing Community: Provide opportunities for students to be engaged global citizens in their communities

 Student Learning Outcomes

 Students will be able to:

  • Assess, identify, and develop a plan to improve areas for personal growth and development
  • Develop leadership skills through attending and actively participating in training workshops and team building activities. 
  • Demonstrate ability to apply and articulate learned leadership skills  
  • Reflect on value on growth and leadership skills and how to apply in various aspects of their lives and make changes based on their reflections
  • Evaluate their skills and ability to apply it to their academic, personal, and professional lives
  • Demonstrates student’s ability to incorporate leadership skills into their academic and professional life
