News and Events for the week of February 19

Good Tuesday Morning:

I hope that everyone had a restful long weekend. As we enter our third week of Spring semester, classrooms are buzzing with students and we are well underway in planning for our big anniversary celebration. 

Pop-Up Food Bank

We continue to provide free food every Monday and Thursday from about 11am until 1pm (or until the food runs out). We will be hosting the Food Bank this Thursday. Students can get fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as some other pre-packaged food items. Please spread the word.

Black History Month Events
Save Energy Save Money; Energy Blitz Challenge Presentation

Today 2/19, Energy Blitz Challenge is presenting an event on how to make your home and campus more sustainable. The event will be held in the Student Union, 2nd floor conference room at 1:30 pm. 

Making A Financial Plan for Law School

On Thursday 2/21, the Law and Administration of Justice Department will host a presentation on making a financial plan for attending law school. The presentation will be held in Holmes Hall 7 at 6 pm. 

Artist Speaker Series

Mark your calendar for 2/26 for our second Artist Lecture featuring Raoul De la Sota. It’s free and open to the public, in Chem 3 from 6pm to 7:30pm.

LACC’s 90th Anniversary Gala

Please mark your calendars for March 12 when we will be holding our 2019 LACC Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Herb Alpert and Lani Hall will be performing. The festivities begin at 6pm. Tickets for faculty, emeriti and staff are $225. For all others tickets are $450.
