90 years of educational excellence!

Spring Break is finally here. The last day of classes is Wednesday, March 27. I am looking forward to a quiet week next week with Monday, April 1 off for the Cesar Chavez Holiday. Additionally, the campus will close at noon on Friday, April 5. Classes resume on Saturday, April 6 with Late Start classes beginning Monday, April 8.

This Past Week
  • Last Monday we had a visit from the Los Angeles City Controller, which was a chance to showcase our Pop-up Food Bank and talk about all of the things we are working on to meet our student’s basic needs.
  • Wednesday afternoon the LACCD Board of Trustees Committee meetings were held.
  • Last Friday Maria S. Salinas, President & CEO of the LA Area Chamber of Commerce, and David Rattray, Executive Vice President at the Center for Education, Excellence & Talent Development at the LA Area Chamber of Commerce and President of UNITE-LA, joined me for a fireside chat on preparing students for careers in nursing and projects they are involved with to help address student homelessness. There seemed to be great interest, from the Chamber members in attendance, with the initiatives we are undertaking. I look forward to forging strong partnerships with the businesses and industries of the LA Chamber of Commerce. Thank you to all of you who attended.
