LACC Community Corner

Tuesday, September 10, I attended the Los Angeles Promise Zone Leadership Council meeting. There are a lot of projects going on in the LA Promise Zone. It is good to be a part of it.

At the District Budget Committee meeting last week, my request to have our deficit payment deferred was voted down. I will appeal it. There was a lot of discussion, but in the end, it was voted down due to a high number of abstentions.

Chancellor Rodriguez held his semi-annual two-day retreat with all nine presidents and his staff to plan for the coming year.

I met again on Friday with Dr. Kateb with the Brain Mapping and Therapeutics organization. We have some great ideas to bring additional training to LACC.

This week I will meet with Cisco Systems; I am meeting with a company called EAB who are leaders in helping colleges with student success initiatives using data; and I will be meeting with a state of the art Virtual Reality company called EONS this week as well.

Have a wonderful week!
