News and Events for the week of September 27

Good Monday Morning,

We are starting Week 5 of the Fall 2021 term. Time goes by… Our enrollment is holding steady. Our comparisons to Fall 2019 at 84% and of 2020 89%. Compared to the other colleges of the LACCD our enrollment is the best. We continue to work on ways to re-engage with our students. Our late start classes begin in about 5 weeks.

Hybrid Work Proposal

The LACC Management Team has drafted a proposal for hybrid work for classified staff and will submit it to Chancellor Rodriguez this week. Assuming our proposal is approved, I am scheduling a Staff and Faculty Town Hall tomorrow, Tuesday, September 28 from 12:30 to 1:30 specifically focused on this hybrid work proposal. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.

Updated District Policy on Vaccinations and Testing

Please continue to check your emails for updates on District policies on vaccinations and testing. I am posting the below information again this week. Please be sure you get vaccinated and tested by the listed due dates.

  1. Biocept and Cleared4 have taken over COVID-19 Testing and Screening operations at LACCD including LACC. This replaces the LACCSafeApp self-check-in process.
  2. Cleared4 will text and/or email each employee and student with a unique link where you can create a profile in their database.
  3. Every LACCD employee, whether on campus or not on campus, is required to create a profile account and complete a baseline test from Biocept by Friday, October 8, 2021. Biocept will be on campus to conduct COVID-19 testing Wednesdays from 10am to 6:30pm and Thursdays from 10am to 4pm. You can make an appointment to be tested when you check in daily via Cleared4.
  4. Every student who comes to campus for any reason is required to create a profile account and get a baseline test from Biocept by Friday, October 8, 2021. Students use the same process as employees to complete the baseline testing on campus with Biocept.
  5. Prior to October 18, 2021, all students who plan to be onsite, for any amount of time and for any reason, at any college or District facility, and all employees must:
    • Upload your vaccination information (if vaccinated)
    • Or submit a medical or religious exemption request that has been approved by the District (please allow 2 days for processing, forms can be found on the District website). If granted an exemption, you must be tested at least once weekly on an LACCD campus or the District Office by Biocept.
  6. Cleared4 will send a daily reminder to complete the quick self-health check in required daily before coming to campus. If you are having difficulty checking in, please contact
  7. If students do not complete the required steps by October 8 or October 18, they must contact the Office of Student Services.
  8. Only visitors to our campus, not students to employees, will continue to use the original district online check in at
