Orientation 

Welcome to Los Angeles City College! We are committed to helping you achieve academic success. In our online orientation for new students, you will learn about: 

  • LACC’s programs, campus, and facilities 

  • Academic expectations and tips for successful degree completion 

  • Student support services and resources 

  • Important college policies and procedures 

Our online orientation takes 45 minutes to one hour. It is required for all new students, except those students who completed it during high school through Dual Enrollment or as part of an outreach recruitment event. Please note that completing our online orientation is required for priority registration. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact the Welcome Center. 

How to Complete the Online Orientation 

To Access the New Student Orientation

  1. Log into the Student Information System (SIS) Portal. 

  1. Select the “To-Do’s List and Holds” tile in your Dashboard, and then “Orientation.”   

  1. You can also find “Orientation” by selecting the “Student Status” tile and then “Assessment and Placement.” 

Notes 

  • You will need a Student ID Number in order to log in to the online orientation system. (Your 9-digit Student ID Number should start with either 88 or 90.) 

  • We recommend that you use a computer or tablet as you may experience minor compatibility issues with your cell phone.  

  • Once you have successfully completed the New Student Orientation, you will receive confirmation via email. You will also no longer see “Orientation” on your “To-Do’s List.”
