Deans' Honor Tea

The Deans' Honor Tea is an annual event recognizing students who have earned outstanding scholastic achievement are given public recognition through the Los Angeles City College Deans' List by receiving a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher.   

The awards include the following distinctions:

Part-time students (a student enrolled in 6 through 11 graded units) must have completed 12 units and earn a 3.5 or higher GPA in the qualifying semester.

Full-time students (a student enrolled in 12 or more graded units the qualifying semester) must earn a 3.5 or higher GPA.

President’s Distinguished Honor List
Students who have appeared on the college’s fulltime or part-time Dean’s Honor list for three (3) consecutive semesters will be placed on the President’s Distinguished Honor List.

Viewing Your Honors Award Status

All academic honors are posted online in your official transcript. Go to and select the Academic Records tile from the dashboard to request a transcript.

If you believe you have earned honors recognition but it is not displayed on your transcript, please contact Admissions and Records at

Please check your email for an important message to request your Deans' Honor Certificate be mailed to you. 

Please make sure your mailing address is up to date in the student portal at Your mailing address can be changed under the Profile tile on the dashboard.
