The Transfer Center at Los Angeles City College assists students with the process of meeting the requirements to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Students who plan to earn a bachelor’s degree or higher should take a pattern of courses designed to meet the lower-division preparation for their intended major and general education requirements.

  • Advising & Counseling:
    Students can receive general information and quick advising on a walk-in basis. You can also schedule an appointment with one of our transfer counselors. (Please call or visit the office for availability.)
  • Computer Lab & Application Assistance:
    Students can use the Center’s computer lab to research colleges and universities and complete online admissions and supplemental applications.
  • College Brochures:
    Review a selection of printed pamphlets and flyers with information for CSU, UC, and private colleges.
  • Workshops:
    We host several workshops and information sessions throughout the year*. Topics include: UC/CSU Transfer Requirements, Admissions Applications, and the UC Personal Insight & Transfer Guarantee.
  • University Representatives:
    College representatives visit the Center to provide one-on-one advising to LACC students. These visits are scheduled through throughout the year*.
  • Annual Transfer Day:
    Every fall the Center organizes a college Transfer Day with representatives from local and out-of-state universities. The 2017 transfer college fair will be held on September 19, 2017 from 10am - 1pm.

Program Outcomes
  1. The Transfer Center will provide students with the opportunity to meet with representatives from 4-year universities.
  2. By attending a CSU or UC application workshop, students will obtain the knowledge and skills to complete the online application.
  3. The Transfer Center will increase the number of students who successfully complete transfer requirements and submit applications to a 4-year university.
  4. Students will receive transfer advisement on a walk-in basis.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Transfer Center is to meet the needs of students preparing to transfer to a four-year college or university by providing accurate, up-to-date information and a set of coordinated resources, activities, and services that support the transfer process.
