How to Apply: High School Students

If you struggled through high school, the Office of Special Services may be able to help you by providing the accommodations necessary for success at the college level.

High school students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and/or 504 students listing a verified disability and interested in attending Los Angeles City College should refer to the following:

Students new to LACC are REQUIRED to complete Assessment (Math/English), College Orientation, and meet with a counselor to develop a Student Educational Plan (SEP):

  • Please visit the LACC Apply/Register page which will walk you through the process

In addition, students new to OSS (Office of Special Services) are REQUIRED to complete the OSS application, OSS orientation, and the OSS Orientation quiz:

Request for Testing Accommodations

Students with a verified disability, or high school students with an IEP, may request testing accommodations for the English/ESL and Math placement tests. To obtain an accommodation referral, visit the Office of Special Services (OSS) on the first floor of the Student Services Building. Students are welcomed to visit OSS to obtain their Assessment Accommodation Form. This can be done prior to a student’s one hour intake appointment. They need not be officially part of OSS, the OSS office will need a student’s application, verification of disability documentation, and set an appointment to see a counselor.
