The City's College
Los Angeles City College (LACC) is the oldest of the Los Angeles Community Colleges, celebrating almost 90 years of educational excellence.
LACC provides a dynamic and innovative learning environment offering more than 100 vocational and professional programs including degrees, transfer programs, and certificates to more than 18,000 students. In 2019, LACC will celebrate its 90th anniversary.
Under the LA College Promise, we offer one year of free enrollment to all full-time students graduating from LAUSD high schools and charter schools. We also offer music majors tuition free attendance, private lessons and financial aid thanks to a gift from The Herb Alpert Foundation. Additionally, our students benefit from a wide variety of financial aid options.
A Vibrant and Diverse Campus

Established in 1929, Los Angeles City College is home to one of the most vibrant and diverse campuses in the country. Located minutes from Hollywood and neighboring Silver Lake and Echo Park, the campus provides a wide range of professional and vocational programs at a fraction of the cost of state and private colleges. Our programs include certificates, transfer programs and degrees.
Ranked in the top three Best Southern California Community Colleges by USA Today News, we provide students and adult learners vital pathways to more advanced education and enhanced employment.
Start Here, Go Anywhere
LACC helps students transfer to competitive universities as juniors, enter high-paying jobs and enable them to advance in their careers.
Our alumni include notable educators; civic leaders and politicians; business leaders; Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winners; medical and technology professionals and a Nobel Laureate.
Our math and debate teams are nationally recognized and our theater and cinema-television programs are among the best in the country.
Our classroom experience is more intimate than large universities, and our smaller class sizes allow for more student/teacher interaction.
