ADA Accommodations
The MLK Library at LACC is committed to provide all members of the LACC community with equitable access to library information and services.
In-Person Resources
The MLK Library has five (5) computers on the second floor with JAWS and Zoomtext, and two (2) of them also have Kurzweil.
- Zoomtext allows students to make the letters on computer screens larger.
- JAWS will read what is on the computer screen to a student.
- Kurzweil allows a student to scan a printed page into the computer and then it is read to them.
LifeStyle HD desktop video magnifiers (CCTV) are located on all three (3) floors of the library.
Online Library Resources
The Library has a large collection of electronic resources available and accessible in multiple formats.
If a student cannot fully access the materials on any page on our site or databases, please contact the library by email mlklibrary@lacitycollege.edu or by phone 323-953-4000 ext. 2406. Please include the nature of the accessibility issue, the location of the material with which you are having difficulty, and your contact information so that we can deliver the material to you in an alternate, accessible format and/or make the necessary improvements to make the information accessible.
Please see the Equally Effective Alternate Access Plan (EEAAP) guide for each of our electronic library databases: EEAAP Guide
For additional services and accommodations contact or visit the High Technology Center in the Office of Special Services (OSS) located in the Student Service Building.
