LACC Tutoring Service

LACC offers tutoring services online and on campus to support students in a variety of disciplines. Check the websites for availability of face-to-face tutoring for Fall 2021, which is being offered on a limited basis at some centers.

Please use the following links to find out more about tutoring services available and how to make an appointment or drop by for tutoring.

Math tutoring is provided through the Pi-Shop in Franklin Hall. Students must enroll in Math 100 or Math 202 to receive tutoring. Limited face-to-face tutoring will be available again beginning in Fall 2021.

Writing & ESL tutoring is available both in-person and online. Students can meet virtually or in person with a tutor to review their paper, submit their papers online for comments and feedback, attend workshops, and access online grammar software.

For assistance in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and upper-level math classes, become part of the STEM Pathways Program. This allows you to participate in General Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction Sessions.

Online, subject-specific tutoring is available for selected courses. Students can book an appointment at or by clicking on “LACC Penji Tutoring” in Canvas and selecting “LACC | General Tutoring.”

Students must enroll in Tutor 001 (Class Number 27740) to receive services. Email for questions.

If you are registered with the Office of Special Services (OSS) at the College, which provides services to students with disabilities, you are eligible for their tutoring services.

Tutoring services are currently provided online, either on a drop-in or scheduled basis.

Trio/Student Support Services (Trio/SSS) provide assistance to students who are low income and/or first-generation students, as well as disabled students who are low-income. Students who are accepted into the program are eligible for their tutoring services, which are currently being offered online.

Tutoring for students in the EOPS, CARE, NextUp, and CAYFES programs is being done via Zoom.

LACC students have the ability to access NetTutor for English, Math, ASL, and Counseling Classes. This is an external service contracted by the District and the tutoring sessions are conducted by tutors who are not LACCD employees or students. Tutoring services in these disciplines are provided for free.

You can access the NetTutor site from inside one of your Canvas shells. Look at the left-hand menu and click on the NetTutor link.
