Dance

Welcome to the department for Dance at LACC. We offer courses in Yoga, Ballet, Modern Dance, Jazz Dance, Choreography, Social Dance, Tap, and Flamenco. Each course is one unit and fulfills the Physical Education requirement for graduation. We also offer a 3 unit History and Appreciation of Dance course.

At the end of select Spring and Fall semesters, a Dance Concert is held in the Camino Theatre.

These courses bring together the performing disciplines of Art, Cinema/TV, Dance, Photography, Music, and Theater. The students will demonstrate through performance how these disciplines integrate and relate to one another. Students will be encouraged to work on this interdisciplinary aspect in the 185 Directed Studies course through departmental collaborative projects.
