LACC Mathematics

The Math Department at Los Angeles City College is committed to fostering student success and enrichment. Our comprehensive range of courses and programs is tailored to cater to the diverse needs of students across various majors. Not only do we provide courses that fulfill general education requirements, but we also offer challenging and advanced courses tailored for students pursuing STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and math). Our award-winning tutoring center, the Pi-Shop, provides exceptional support for students at all levels. Our highly competitive Math Club serves as a hub for enthusiastic individuals passionate about higher level mathematics. The LACC math team routinely places in the top 3 in the nation – and has won the national title 6 times!
We recently expanded our course offerings to include a certificate program in Data Science, aligning with the evolving landscape of technology and analytics. This program reflects our commitment to stay at the forefront of educational trends - preparing students for transfer or employment in this emerging field.
