Pi-Shop (Math Tutoring)
Pi-Shop (LACC’s Mathematics Tutoring Center) opened officially in the fall of 1998. Pi-Shop has become crucial to the learning of science and mathematics and helping students to reach their academic goal, and the student success rates speak very highly for it. The vast majority of those who use the Pi-Shop pass their math classes, compared with a lower pass rate for those who take Math classes but don’t use the Pi-Shop. Our tutoring center helps students learn how to succeed in mathematics, provides tutoring for all math levels, and helps students develop the study skills that make learning math easier and more enjoyable.
Pi-Shop is a state of-the-art Mathematics Tutoring Lab that has been recognized by the State Academic Senate with an honorable mention in its competition for the “Exemplary Program Award.”
Our Goals
- Receive respectful, courteous, and helpful assistance in solving Math problems from the Pi-Shop tutors.
