Application Checklist

An international student is someone applying to Los Angeles City College with an F-1 student visa, issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). International students are not eligible for financial aids granted by the state of California nor the U.S. federal government.

Admission Process and Required Documents: Please review the information below to understand the admission process to Los Angeles City College as a full-time F-1 visa international student. Los Angeles City College is required by U.S. government regulations to collect and review the materials listed below in order to issue the immigration documents necessary to obtain a student visa. All documents submitted for evaluation will become the property of Los Angeles City College and will not be returned to the prospective student.

NOTE: If you encounter an error message when you check the "No Expiration Date" under the I-94 information section on CCC Apply online application, please uncheck the "No Expiration Date" box and input any future date as an expiration date to move forward with your application submission. When selecting your Citizenship in Open CCCApply, select "STUDENT VISA (F-1)" regardless of your current status.

International Student Application Checklists
See the checklists (A) and (B) below, determine which checklist applies to you, and gather all the necessary documents. All the following documents must be emailed to @email in order to be considered for admission as an F-1 student.


(A) Initial Student Checklist

Students who are applying from abroad as a new F-1 visa student must submit the following documents:

  1. F-1 Student Supplemental Application Form (fillable PDF)
  2. Proof of Funds - Current proof of funding must be in the form of a bank letter or a bank statement (with an official signature/seal). All bank verifications should indicate U.S. currency and dated within 6 months of the term start date. An estimated yearly expense is $23,000 U.S. dollars.
  3. Affidavit of Support Form (If you have a financial sponsor)
  4. Proof of English Proficiency*
  5. Copy of Transcripts or Equivalent, i.e. certificate of completion, diploma, etc. *Students under the age of 18 must provide proof of high school completion.

(B) Transfer Student Checklist

Students who are currently in the United States on an F-1 visa and wish to transfer to Los Angeles City College must submit the following documents:

  1. F-1 Student Supplemental Application Form (fillable PDF)
  2. Proof of Funds - Current proof of funding must be in the form of a bank letter or a bank statement (with an official signature/seal). All bank verifications should indicate U.S. currency and dated within 6 months of the term start date. An estimated yearly expense is $23,000 U.S. dollars.
  3. Affidavit of Support Form (If you have a financial sponsor)
  4. Proof of English Proficiency*
  5. Copy of Transcripts or Equivalent, i.e. certificate of completion, diploma, etc. *Students under the age of 18 must provide proof of high school completion.
  6. Copy of I-20 from current school
  7. Copy of Passport and Visa stamp
  8. Intent to Transfer-In Form
  9. I-94 (if you are applying for Change of Status)

PART-TIME ENROLLMENT


How to Apply as a Part-Time (Con-currently Enrolled) Student

If you are currently attending a U.S. institution that issued your I-20 form and would like to concurrently enroll at Los Angeles City College as a part-time student, please follow the instructions below. Concurrently enrolled students are eligible to apply for full terms (Fall and Spring) and intersessions (Summer and Winter).

Permission letter from your current school that issued your I-20: the permission letter must include your full name, Student ID number, and specific course name(s) in which you are authorized to enroll.

GLOBAL ONLINE BUSINESS (GOB) ENROLLMENT


ABOUT 

The LACC Global Online Business (GOB) degree program provides students the opportunity to earn a Certificate or an Associate degree without leaving your home country.  All courses in our online degree program are for college credit and most units are transferable to four-year universities, courses will be offered asynchronously through LACC and taught by our wonderful professors.  
 

Our Global Online Business degree program offers the following Certificates and AA Transferable Degrees:

COURSE LENGTH & COST

Courses vary in length, from 5weeks, to 8weeks, and 16 weeks. Courses are available year-round. The cost $388 per unit. Most courses are 1 to 3 units.

DO I NEED A VISA

Students enrolled in this program do not require a visa since the entire program is online and available to you in your home country.

  3. Copy of Transcripts or Equivalent, i.e., certificate of completion, diploma, etc. *Students under the age of 18 must provide proof of high school completion.
  4. Identification Card
