Business Administration
Business administration provides students with a modern, quality education in accounting, business, economics, finance, management, marketing and real estate. Common careers in business administration include: auditor, real estate agent, sales manager, bankers and more.

Child Development
A career in childhood development could range from working as teacher for children under five, a day care teacher, a teacher's assistant, to working as an administrator or manager of a day care center. Child Development professionals plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs and activities that promote children's physical, cognitive and social-emotional development.

Dietetics
Dietetics refers to the application of food and nutrition principles to dietary planning. This includes designing therapeutic diets to manage conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, modifying food textures, and screening patients for dietary needs. In California, medical facilities such as nursing homes and hospitals are required to emply dietetics professionals to plan and prepare meals, as well as to provide nutritional counseling to patients during their stay.

Cinema & Television
The LACC Cinema/TV Department teaches film and television development, production and post production with a practical approach that guides students through our cost effective, hands-on environment. Students have the opportunity to pursue an associate of Arts Degree in Cinema or Television Production (AA), Associates Degree for Transfer (ADT), and/or earn certificates in: Directing, Cinematography, Producing Post-Production, Screenwriting, Cinema Production, Cinema-Video Production, and Television Production.

Dental Technology
Dental Prosthetic Technology is a career focused on the design and manufacture of dental prosthetic restorations, including dentures, partial dentures, crowns, bridges, orthodontic devices (both passive and active retainers), and implants. It is a field that blends both science and art. Because each dental patient's needs are unique, the responsibilities in this profession are comprehensive and highly varied.

Kinesiology
Kinesiology is the study of the art and science of human movement across the lifespan and its impact on health, society, and quality of life. It integrates the lates evidence-based research to enhance function, health, and wellness for individuals in diverse settings and populations.

Personal Training
Personal training is commitment to overseeing an individual's fitness journey and helping the individual achieve their own personal goals. Personal trainers are part coach and part mentor. They help clients to orient their health, fitness and physique goals and assist them in engaging in the activities that will help them meet their goals, Personal trainers love to help and inspire others to become healthier overall and their efforts make a physical and often times mental difference in their clients lives.

Administration of Justice
Administration of justice in the U.S. court system includes the personnel, activity, and structure of the justice system. Specially, it includes those who work to investigate crimes, those who work in the trial process of the alleged crimes, laws that govern investigative and courtroom activity, and the courts themselves.

Law & Paralegal Studies
Law in the United States consists of various levels of codified and uncodified forms of law, with the supreme authority being the United States Constitution, which serves as the foundation of the federal government. According to California Business and Professions Code section 6450, a "paralegal" is a person who represents themselves as such and is qualified by education, training, or work experience. This individual may contract with or be employed by an attorney, law firm, corporation, governmental agency, or other entity, performing substantial legal work under the direction and supervision of an active member of the State Bar of California or an attorney practicing in federal courts within the state. Paralegals are not permitted to provide legal services directly to the public, except as permitted by law.

Pathway to Law School
The Pathway to Law School Program is a clear pathway from community college to law school. Support for the students, including mentoring and pre-law counseling, is included in order to provide students with the best possible chance for success.

Statistical Data Analytics
Statistical data analysis is the collection and interpretation of data in order to uncover patterns and trends.

Music
The music community is comprised of performers, composers, and educators who share their passion and creativity to enrich the lives of others. Music is part of every culture on earth. It motivates us, inspires us, challenges us, educates us, comforts us, and shapes who we are as individuals. A strong education in music prepares you for any one of the numerous careers in the art of music making. By joining the music community at the Herb Alpert Music Center, you will enter a creative process that provides some of life's most powerful emotional experiences.

Nursing
Nurses promote health, prevent disease and help patients cope with illness. They have a unique scope of practice and can practice independently, although they also collaborate with all members of the health care team to provide the care needed by each patient as an individual. Nurses advocate for their patients and patients’ families. They develop and manage nursing care plans and instruct patients and their families in proper care. As educators, they help whole communities by teaching individuals and groups how to take steps to improve or maintain their health.

Philosophy
The twentieh-century philosopher, Martin Heidegger, defined philosophy as an inquiry into the most fundamental questions human beings can ask. Questions such as ‘What is real?’, ‘Is there a God?’, ‘Is there anything about which we can be certain?’ and ‘Is there a right way to live?’ are some of the questions that have captivated human beings for thousands of years, and which are as relevant today as they were for the ancients.

Psychology, Human Services & Social Services
Psychology, Human Services & Social Work encompass the study and application of principles aimed at understanding human behavior, promoting mental health, and fostering social change. Psychology delves into the workings of the mind, exploring topics such as cognition, emotion, and behavior. Human Services focuses on providing support and assistance to individuals and communities facing various challenges, ranging from homelessness to addiction. Social work emphasizes advocacy, empowerment, and social change, striving to create a more equitable society for all. Together, these disciplines work hand in hand to address the diverse needs of individuals and communities, promoting well-being and positive change on both individual and social levels.

Addiction Studies
Addiction is a complex condition—a brain disease characterized by compulsive substance use despite harmful consequences. Addiction Studies offers a practical and specialized curriculum designed to prepare students for careers in addiction counseling and rehabilitative occupations.

Radiologic Technology
Radiologic technologists are the medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments. They are educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care.

Social Sciences
Social Science scholars contribute valuable insights and expertise to address complex social problems, inform public discourse, and improve the well-being of individuals and communities. Their work spans various fields and disciplines, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the social sciences.

Theater Arts
Theater Art is a performance art concerned almost exclusively with live performances in which the action is precisely planned to create a coherent and significant sense of drama. Production of theater art is a largely collaborative undertaking involving writers, producers, actors, stage technicians, costume designers, and a wealth of other contributors.

Animation
Animation is the art and science of creating the illusion of motion by displaying a series of static images in rapid succession. Each image differs slightly from the one before it, so when viewed continuously, the sequence creates the effect of movement. This can be achieved through various techniques such as traditional hand-drawn animation, stop-motion animation using physical models, or computer-generated imagery (CGI). The field of animation is used extensively in entertainment, particularly in films, television shows, and video games, but also serves important roles in advertising, education, and simulation.

Art & Art History
Visual Art is the deliberate arrangement of visual elements in order to express, persuade, or appeal to the senses or emotions. The visual arts are important in commence (product design, graphic design, illustration, animation and human expression (sculpture, painting, installation). Art History explores the history of the visual arts, identifying, classifying, describing, evaluating, interpreting, and understanding art products and their cultural and historical context and development.

Game Art & Design
Game Art & Design is the study and practice of the fundamental components of the art side of game development. Building on the foundation skills required for feature animation production, we are training technical artists in the specific intricacies of designing worlds, creating assets, and creating animation for games. The core tenant of this program is “learn by doing.” Students will spend a significant amount of time working in teams to design narratives, build assets, and ultimately create engaging games.

Journalism
Journalism is the activity of gathering, assessing, creating, and presenting news and information. It is also the product of these activities. Modern journalism encompasses digital photography, art, web design and computer coding skills and is embedded in various mediums such as social media, podcasting, blogs, news writing for radio and TV and more.

Photography
Photography is about learning to see and recognize light and its qualities, and then capturing what is seen with a camera using film or digital media to render a visual image that expresses the photographer’s vision.
