Financial aid at Los Angeles City College is now 100% online.
You can do your financial aid application a www.fafsa.gov. You can check your status through the LACCD Student Portal, submit loans and appeals through the LACC Financial Aid Website, and now you can also submit your financial aid documents from your phone, tablet or computer. Click on the menus below to learn how to navigate these processes.
1. Login to lacitycollege.verifymyfafsa.com.
2. Select the academic year you are completing.
3. Any required documents you need to complete will be displayed.
4. Complete the forms online and upload any required documents.

5. When done completing the form online and/or upload of documents, select "Submit"

6. When you completed all processes and uploaded all documents, click Finish.

2. Click on Finances Menu

3. Click on Account Activity

4. The Account Inquiry will display in the Activity Tab:

Note that refunds occur normally 2-3 working days after the posting date

2. Click on Finances Menu

3. Click on View Financial Aid

4. Click on the year to select the award year you want to see

5. Awards will display by Aid Year and broken down by Terms

This a one-time step process to access the tasks and to do list required for your financial aid:
1. Login to your LACCD Portal at mycollege.laccd.edu
2. On another tab on your browser, go to lacitycollege.verifymyfafsa.com

3. Enter the required information, such as date of birth, Social Security number and phone number. Then select "Register Account".

How to Appeal a Financial Aid Disqualification
1. Login to your LACCD Portal at mycollege.laccd.edu
2. Click on Finances Menu
3. Click on View Financial Aid
4. Click on the most current Aid Year.

5. Click on Satisfactory Academic Progress

6. Determine the reason for your dfisqualification and the type of appeal required.

Reinstatement Appeal: when your GPA is below 2.0 and/or you completed less than 67% of your attempted units.
Extension Appeal: When you attempted more than 150% of the number of units required for your declared academic program.
Combination Appeal: when your GPA is below 2.0 and/or you completed less than 67% of your attempted units AND you attempted more than 150% of the number of units required for your declared academic program.
Course Petition: to add courses to a previously approved extension appeal.
Repeated Coursework Petition: to petition for a course to be repeated under your current extension appeal.
1. From the left menu on the LACC Financial Aid Website, select Submit a Financial Aid Appeal
2. Go to "How to submit a Reinstatement Appeal"
3. Click on the link to acces the mandatory onlin SAP Workshop.
4. Answer the four questions to successfully complete the workshop. Take a note or copy the password provided.

5. Type in the password (or paste it) and answer all the questions on the appeal form and submi it.
6. You will receive a receipt confirmation email on your LACCD email account.
1. Login to your LACCD Portal at mycollege.laccd.edu
2. Click on Finances Menu
3. Click on SAP Extension Appeal

4. Click on View/Apply SAP Appeal

5. Follow the instructions and answer all the required questions.

6. Submit your appeal
If you have an existing appeal, you will be able to see the resolution and the classes approved and/or denied.
1. From the left menu on the LACC Financial Aid Website, select Submit a Financial Aid Appeal
2. Go to "How to submit a Course Petition Appeal"

3. Answer all the questions on the Appeal Form

4. List the classes that you are petitioning. Only the classes on your updated Educational Plan will be considered on this petition.
6. Submit your appeal. You will receive a receipt confirmation email on your LACCD email account.
1. From the left menu on the LACC Financial Aid Website, select Submit a Financial Aid Appeal
2. Go to "How to submit a Repeated Coursework Petition"

3. Answer all the questions on the Appeal Form

4. List the classes that you are petitioning. The classes must have been approved in a previous Extension Appeal or Course Petition.
6. Submit your appeal. You will receive a receipt confirmation email on your LACCD email account.

How to Apply for Student Loans
1. From the left menu on the LACC Financial Aid Website, select Student Loans and then, Direct Stafford Loans
2. Review eligibility and read and understand your rights and responsibilities as a borrower.
3. Before you submit your loan data form, you must have submitted a FAFSA and have completed your financial aid process
4. Complete Direct Entrance Counseling Test

5. Complete the Master Promissory Note

6. Complete and submit the Student Loan Data Form answering all required questions.
7. You will receive a receipt confirmation email on your LACCD email account.
This loan is for parents of dependent undergraduate students.
1. From the left menu on the LACC Financial Aid Website, select Student Loans and then, Parent PLUS Loan
2. Review student and parent eligibility and read and understand your rights and responsibilities as a parent borrower.
3. Before you submit your loan data form, the student must have submitted a FAFSA and have completed his/her financial aid process
4. Parent must apply for Parent PLUS Loan

5. Parent must complete the Master Promissory Note

6. Parent must complete the PLUS Credit Counseling

7. Parent must complete the Parent PLUS Loan Application answering all required questions.
