Good Monday Morning,

This week concludes our events celebrating Black History.  LACC honors the achievements, resilience, and cultural richness of the Black community. I hope to see you at our upcoming events this month.

LACC will once again be a Voting Center for the upcoming March elections. The Voting Center will be in the Student Union. The Early Voting Period will take place March 2-4 from 10am to 7pm and Election Day is March 5 from 7am to 8pm.

We continue work on updating our website. If you need any assistance with your website you can contact IT directly at @email or email Shaena Engle at @email.

The CTE Spotlight Awards call for nominations is now open.  These awards aim to recognize and celebrate outstanding individuals and organizations who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and contributions in Career Technical Education. The deadline to submit nomination is Monday, March 4th, 2024. Please look for the email in your mailbox for instructions on how to nominate someone.

Mark your calendar for the Inaugural Summit on March 13 and the investiture ceremony for President Dr. Amanuel Gebru which will take place on March 14th.  Please RSVP to the links that were sent to faculty and staff.

Black History Month: State of Black Student Achievement in LACCD Townhall

"The State of The African American Student" is a topic that has garnered significant attention from various perspectives, including administration, faculty, and the broader community. It represents a crucial conversation within the educational landscape, as it involves addressing disparities and challenges faced by African American students, while also acknowledging their achievements and potential. Join District colleagues as we explore and discuss these issues and celebrate and shine a light on Black student achievement throughout LACCD. Refreshments will be provided. Nick Beck Lecture Series: An Afternoon with Ira Rosen

LACC Morgan Freeman Theater

This will be a moderated discussion with award winning producer Ira Rosen for students and community members to come together and learn more about what it takes to produce impactful, hard-hitting news. Open to the public, a $30 admission fee will be charged for non LACC Community members.

City Senior Days Resource Fair

The week of March 18, LACC will hold their City Senior Resource Fair welcoming high school seniors to our campus.
