Good Tuesday Morning,
I hope everyone had a restful three-day weekend. As we recognize Juneteenth, today we gather to break bread together and interact socially to understand the significance of Juneteenth to our African-American community.
I missed getting my message to you last week so I am including it this week, although I extracted all non-relevant information.
This Week @ City Monday, June 12
Good Monday Morning,
What a great graduation celebration! We joined together to congratulate more than 1,200 graduates! Our ceremony included our youngest graduate of all time and an impromptu presentation of a diploma to an alumna who had to leave early to deliver her baby.
KABC-TV covered LACC in two graduation stories, which you can view at
We also secured additional coverage from the Antelope Valley Press at https://www.avpress.com/news/palmdale-girl-a-college-grad-at-age-12/article_6c344c62-073c-11ee-b8ad-6352c6ccaf8d.html.
Summer session begins today and will run through August 27. We are up over 10% to last year’s summer sessions. Great job!
BELIEVE. ACHIEVE. SUCCEED.
This Week @ City Tuesday, June 20
Last week we had a moving Celebration of Life for alumni and former ASG President Jemere Calhoun. Thank you to everyone who attended, shared memories and celebrated the legacy he left behind.
We had a wonderful Senior Night on Thursday with our incoming high school graduates and their families in the quad for food, fun and important information for our inkling class of 2025. We had over 500 incoming students and their families RSVP. City is on it! Thanks to our great Welcome Center team, along with all of our other services.
