Thank you to everyone who assisted in our Voting Center last week.
Last week we met with members of the California Community College Accessibility Center for training regarding accessibility standards. Deans and staff from Academic Affairs, Business Administration and Student Services attended. Thank you to all who attended.
Last Thursday we held the Nick Beck Lecture Series featuring producer Ira Rosen. More than 80 guests attended. Thank you to our Foundation for putting on such a successful event.

This week we have two big events. On Wednesday, we are hosting our Inaugural Summit/Professional Development Day featuring a wide variety of speakers. On Thursday, we will be hosting an Investiture Ceremony. I hope you can make both of these special events.

Investiture Ceremony

LA City College is commemorating the leadership of Dr. Amanuel Gebru, the college’s 18th leader and 16th president, with an investiture ceremony. Guests include LA Mayor Karen Bass, Poet Laureate Lynn Thompson, Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer, LACCD stakeholders, educational partners, and elected leaders. The ceremony will include an Indigenous Land Acknowledgement and prayer, libation ceremony, a poetic tribute, and live performances from the LACC Jazz Band and Ethiopia Dance Troup and Drummers.

This Friday 100 high school students will attend Cinema Day at LACC with hands on activities in our live studio, camera, and sound technology departments.

Week of March 18
City Senior Days Resource Fair
The week of March 18, LACC will hold their City Senior Resource Fair welcoming high school seniors to our campus. City Senior Days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 2pm. The Resource Fair will be held from 11am to noon.
